What is the purpose of having to use a password everytime you want to read the book?

It's quite annoying.

Any way to remove it?

You can remove the password if you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat.

Otherwise, you can open in Foxit Reader then File > Print to one of the free PDF printers (cutePDF, BullZip etc)
