You say that you think he's on a draw … at the river it doesn't matter which draw he was on, he go there. He represented the flush but had the straight instead. No matter, he played and bet it well, and you had one of those hands to pay him off. In reality, I think you can get away from this on the river, if not the turn by raising.

I think raising the turn would be pretty bad here, unless you are trying to pull the freeze play mentioned on page 108 (and maybe someone can chime in if I'm wrong, but I think that would be a misapplication of the play). When he donk/calls the flop, I think I would put him on any J or T, flush draw or straight draw. He is repping the flush when he donks the turn again, but the bet is so small and your hand is still moderately strong that I think a call is correct. He could be bluffing, or he could still have the straight draw or whatever pair he had on the flop… people do weird things in blind versus blind play. When he bets less than half pot on the river, I don't see how you can avoid paying him off here. Q9 got there, but 98 and KQ missed. 97 is an unlikely holding imo, so I wouldn't give it too much weight. Because it is blind versus blind, I don't think you can totally discount one pair hands from his range at this point either. If I am correct in that assesment, then you have more than enough equity to call the river, so go ahead and do so.

wait, am i mis-reading the hand? villain checked the river, you made a value bet, and he called, right?
for the most part i think you played it fine. although, against certain players i'd raise the turn… against a nit i might raise the turn with the plan of folding to a 3b. but usually i'd raise the turn and be happy to get it all-in. (that may or may not apply to your situation, depending on your opponents' typical ranges and what they think of your range.) but against my opponents, and also based on what my opponents usually think of me, i'm usually cool to get it in with top two on this turn for 100bb in a blind vs. blind battle. but starting with a little more conservative strategy is probably not a bad idea, in which case i like either freezing the turn, or playing it exactly how you played it.
