Recently I'm tring to strenghten my pre-flop game and I get curious what overall steal percentage you have (Sunny and Ed) I know stealing is very situational but I just want to have a clue what I should go for on the long run. Now I play 50NL and have an overall steal percentage of 33,9 and I open 45% of my hands on the button and 20% in the cutoff when folded to overall. Are these numbers are fine or I could raise them a bit? Thank you in advance!

My 2 cents…(not that they matter) Smile

I play mainly 50NL right now. I don't know if there is a concrete % you should strive for. The authors may disagree, but I think it depends on the dynamics of the games you are in.

–If you are at a table with nits/weak players to your left, you can steal blinds at at much higher % and probably be successful. (plenty of nits/setminers at .25/.50)

–If you have LAG's/maniacs to your left, you'll want to drop the steal % a great deal, wait for a decent hand, play plenty of pots with them, isolate, and let them hang themselves.

–If you have calling stations to your left, drop the %, wait for a good hand, and value bet them to death.

…and regardless of the table dynamics, mix in some steal attempts, flat calls, and 3 bets here and there to remain unpredictable

Thank you for the input but I already know these things :D By overall steal I mean looking at 100 000 hands in holdem manager and what percentage did you steal in all these 100K hands. BTW what is yours?

I'll have to check later. I'm still at work and do not have access to HEM right now. I also don't think I have 100,000 hands in there yet. I only got HEM about a month ago.

Sorry if my advice seemed elementary, I am still learning myself. Laugh
