Bluffing at micro stakes

Conventional wisdom is that bluffing at micro stakes is a waste and that you simply value bet. I'm playing $5 NL full ring right now and I am rarely getting much value on my hands. Seems like set mining has lost its appeal. Also, if someone calls you all 3 streets, TPTK is usually no longer good. People (even at $5 NL) just don't stack off with TPTK anymore. Honestly, it really feels like the majority of my stack just sits there, rarely getting bet. While I know how much of a hated strategy it is, I can't help but wonder if I'd be better shortstacking…lol

So, my question is: should I be implementing more bluffs in my game? What types of HUD stats should I look for when deciding to bluff a player?

Keep it simple at those stakes…

only bluff in smaller pots, heads up, in position, when your opponent has not shown strength…but don't try it often at Micros..and rarely if ever try to bluff a loose player.

Conventional wisdom is like a broken clock, correct twice a day.

If you aren't getting paid off on your good hands, and you aren't bluffing much either, then yes, absolutely it means that you should implement more bluffing into your game.

The "don't bluff at low stakes" conventional wisdom comes from two sources:

1. Games where guys really do play so loose that most pots go to showdown and getting paid on a solid percentage good hands is nearly automatic

2. People that have no idea what they're talking about and are just parrotting conventional wisdom.
