Well, I've skimmed the entire book once (the night it came out) and I have now read it thoroughly cover to cover. I will now begin my in depth study.
After having had time to digest the material twice now, I can say this (seriously, not like my other jokes about $1995 price tags):
Knowing what I now know about the content of this book, I would have paid $200 without blinking.
Combine the relevancy of the information to today's online 6-max games with the author's ability to write and teach effectively, it is easily worth this price.
Also note, I say this even though I had a lot of familiarity with many of the topics discussed. I feel the authors did a much better job achieving much more depth and breadth than you typically find in your online videos and articles and such. For someone who is just learning some of the concepts presented, they will feel like they've just taken the red pill and the journey down the rabbit hole begins.
I'm sure this will be touted as *THE* poker book of 2009.
I would price it accordingly.

I'm sure Ed wouldnt mind if you'd transfer the other $160 to him…

Hey,
Thanks a lot for the great review. I really appreciate it. I hope you're right about it becoming a major release for 2009.

Go with the $1995 price price pretty please.
Maybe then almost nobody else will buy it (but the authors would get to make beaucoup bucks from the few who did) and those of us who got in at the pre-$1995 level would have a huge advantage over the hoi polloi.

There's no doubt in my mind, it'll become the standard playbook for no-limit.

I'll say this much, Ed wasn't kidding when he said the book is "dense". Don't get me wrong, that's a good thing, but I can see it's going to take me some time to get through it. My hat is off to anyone who can actually read this book in a day! Unless you are just skimming, that seems impossible to me…

This makes me fearful, tbh.

If it gets too rough, there's always PLO :) I'm far from even good.. yet, the quality of play reminds me of NLHE back in 2004.
