By checking the turn I induce a lot of bluffs on the river in which cause I should always call river. I've also gotten I should milk for value on the turn to maximize on donkeys.
Player dependent, I agree with both of these. With not-so-sophisticated (but trying to think) opponents, you'll see this bet mean a lot of things. Misguided value bet, good value bet, bluff, etc.
As the OOP player, this is the line to take to get about 1 street of value from hands as strong as 2 pair that beat you. It's also a line to pick up a pot that looks orphaned.
As the In-position player, I don't love the turn check. You are saying "I have <= 2pair, no draw" on a board with 3 straight cards, and 2 flush draws. Bet the turn, check the river.
Here, the OOP player can now legitimately rep about 1/2 the deck as cards that helped their hand. Maybe they called the flop to see what you'd do, and backed into something.
On a drier board, I'd lean toward a call. On this board, I'd probably kick myself for misplaying the turn, and fold.
