Just because there is an investigation does not automatically mean the investigated party is guilty. Moreover, it would be a great blow to civil liberty if online poker were somehow made illegal in the US. People have a right to do whatever they like with their money as long as it doesn't hurt others. Playing poker responsibly is no different than paying for a movie ticket if you are a recreational player and of course because it is a skill game, it is also possible to make money from it. There are many reliable and trustworthy poker sites. I think FT is one of them and I'd be surprised if the government has anything on them. The government picks on online poker due to pressure from land based casinos who want a monopoly, their inability to be smart and tax it the right way while nurturing a free market, religious nutcases who don't understand poker but want their representatives to worry about it instead of REAL issues and irresponsible gamblers who don't want to accept their mistakes. It's all quite pathetic.
Although, I have to admit that NLHE is tougher than ever these days outside of microstakes. It's not dead but compared to years before… sigh. I don't think PLO is really that much softer either and it has more variance but maybe others disagree.
