i.e. Bobbofitos(v expensive), SlowHabit(v expensive), Balugawhale(v expensive), Improva(comes with 2 coaching lessons looks like good value)

Surely some of the authors have read 1 of the above? out of curiosity, market research, whatever? How do you think your book will stack up vs these. You are obviously undercutting their price by a large amount but that could leave me worried i am getting less advanced material. However your book surely will offer more value per $ given the reasonable price i hope. Love to hear your comments.

btw i have already ordered your book. Hope you guys say something that gets me excited!

I have not and doubt Ed or Sunny have.  I did read one draft chapter of Bobbo's book.  Good stuff.

I haven't read any of those e-books. After SSNLHE is out, I'll probably read one or two of them.

This is the fallacy of price equals value. It's well known to succesfull internet marketers.

People may be more likely to purchase the same e-book for $100 than they would be for $5.

Also, interestingly, if you asked those who had read the e-book, in many cases those who payed $100 would be much more likely to say it was worth the money than those who had payed only $5.

This insight into human psycology translates to NL poker strategy also…

Interesting point, cyberprime.

As for how advanced the material is… we've targetted it for handily beating a $1-$2 online 6-max game. So it's roughly that advanced. :)

I believe some of the boutique e-books you've listed have some more advanced material in them because they are targetted for tougher games. But on the other hand, I'm sure they take for granted and gloss over a lot of the info we present… and I think a lot of it is information that will really strongly benefit many players.

It's not only interesting but it is well known in a lot of areas.

A friend of mine wanted to sell his house (this was a little more than a year ago, housing prices had come down but had not really crashed yet).  He decided to price it a lot lower than the going price for the area, in an effort to move it quickly.

His real estate agent strongly advised against that.  The agent told him "The first question buyers ask when they see a price that low is 'OK so what is wrong with it?'".

He disregarded this advice, and sure enough, the house doesn't move.

He takes it off the market for a month, then puts it back on at a somewhat higher price.  It sells.

Yes, human psychology is a most interesing subject…

Probably worth considering that the high price point on these ebooks has a "value preservation" effect since they are aimed at higher limit players competing with a relatively small player pool and your winnings in poker hinge on having an edge on the competition.
