I tried to sort out at what point a light 3 bet shows an instant profit, I come up with this. My assumptions are intentionally pessimistic.

Math behind 3 betting light:

  • Villain opens: 25.8% (22+;A8s+;56s+;KTs+)
  • folds: (56o-Qjo;K9-KT;A8-AJ)
  • calls 12,5% (less than half of original opening range)
  • 4,50$ to 2,25$= 2 to 1 = 50%
  • everyone folds SB 95% BB 95% MP 50%
  • everyone will fold 45%
  • I need to fold out 50% and everyone will fold 45% so its close to instant profit.

Does my calculations correct or I messed up something?
