It's been a couple days now. Just though I'd post here that I sent him a few screenshots and I'm yet to hear anything back from him.

The authors don't lie! :)
For more than just one guy's results, llook at the yearly results posted on 2p2 to see how much people make (or lose) playing small stakes:

Hello,
I've seen quite a few posts here trolling about the book and I wanted to answer them : this is a great book!
I was a break-even player (at best) at 10NL before. I bought and red the book during late octobre and I played my ass off during novembre : around 60 hours and about 30k hands. During this time, I analysed my sessions and still continued to read the book.
Eventually I made 300$ (30 buy-in). Variance kicked in by I hold tight.
I know 30k hands is a small sample but I'm much confidant about my game now and I won steadily during this time even with a (modest) 4 buy-in downswing.
To be a regular winner, I think you have to study and pratice a lot. This book is plenty enough material for the first part. Reading it is now enough though, you have to know it!
Ed, Sunny, Matt … Thanks again!

Good post Murthag. I unsuccessfully tried to explain to the trolls that the book has very solid information. But the real key with success is how well THE PLAYER applies the techniques. That has more to do with the player's comprehension and utilization of the material, than the authors and the material itself. Too many players want poker authors/teachers to give them a magic pill or gimmick, but that just does not work in a complicated and constantly evolving game like poker. It reminds of the classic old saying…
Give a man a fish (pardon the bad poker pun) he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, he'll eat for a lifetime.

Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all weekend

Give a man fire, and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he's warm the rest of his life.

That was hilarious Matt! While we are at it, here are a couple of my personal favorites. Fittingly, these can easily apply to the trolls…
You can wish in one hand, and sh*t in the other, see which one fills up first.
You can't polish a turd.

Believe it or not I've actually heard one that a few times, but then again I am from North Carolina. Do you still live in NC Matt? I've been living in Charlotte the past 7 years, and I grew up in Asheville. I thought I read somewhere you were in living in the Triangle area?

I live in Raleigh.
My favorite insult (overheard):
"He and his brother don't have twelve toes between 'em."

That said I think a substantial percentage who actually read and digest this book can do it. Few people actually study books, and those that do tend to do much better than their peers.
Hi Matt,
Given your med schooling, you must be an expert in studying books. Any pointers?
