Lord knows I need another poker book like I need a hole in my head. Whats another 40 bucks in case something finally clicks and I can finally crest being break evenish.

Most of the concepts are purely for 6 max?

i wish someone would come up with a Tiltalyzer for your pc. You have to blow into and if any tilt level is detected your pc wont boot. Surprised

Hi,

It's definitely not just for 6-max. The book discusses basic no-limit ideas like barreling, value betting, preflop stealing/restealing, isolating bad players, and so forth. These concepts apply to every no-limit game (with the possible exception of games where 5 players see every flop for 8xBB preflop raises).

We chose a $1-$2 online 6-max game as our model game because we decided it is one of the toughest of the "small stakes" games (obviously not a bright line, but we drew it anyway), so we could discuss everything one would need to beat small stakes games in the context of that game.

Honestly, the main difference between full ring and 6-max is that you play more frequently in a 6-max game. You can isolate more frequently because hand strengths are weaker on average, you can blind steal more frequently, you can resteal more frequently, and so forth. But these concepts still apply to full ring games… you just have to wait longer and fold more hands between chances to apply them. :)

No joke!!! I've found a reliable way (maybe not the most healthy) to handle tilt.. I drop down to like $10 no limit and just start going ultra aggro. It lets out the frustration rather quickly.

The funny thing is, over the last 6 months I have 1105 hands at this level (yeah, I'm a tilt monkey) and yet running over 29BB/100 going aggro nuts. lol  This has been a much better solution that what I used to to… jump up a few levels.. say 600nl and lose a buy-in or two on complete tilt trying to make back what I lost.
