In chapter "Don’t Play Trash" (p. 207) J9 of harts is considered a suited connector.

Is it correct? I thought connectors must have consecutive cards, eg. JT, T9.

Thanks!

To me any 1 gap hand is considered connected. Two gappers are not.Cool

It's basically a suited connector. It's much better than, say, 64s due to the high card value. I tend to be a little bit flexible with my terminology at points.

Just a quick note about suited connectors. I'd strongly recommend going into a program such as Holdem Manager and see what your winrate is concerning suited connectors (all the way down to 2 gappers). I did this about 3 months ago and I was absolutely flawed when I realized how badly I was playing it.

- I cold called way too much in middle position

- There were a number of squeeze opportunities I simply didn't take advantage of

- I raised them too often in EP against strong players behind me  (I used the excuse I was mixing up my play.. did it far too often)

The authors state on page 18 that suited connectors need steal equity unless your opponents are exceptionally loose.

Is the for online 6-max or do they authors think it holds for a typical live lowlimt $1-$2 100BB-max type game also? Say like 4-5 people typically seeing a flop?

thanks in advance
