whittle1 said:LOL, yeah it has dried up. I'd say it's safe to say people have gotten over the initial hype of the book and realize it's just like any other poker book. Sure, it's got some entertaining stuff. Does it give you any meaningful edge at the tables? Nah.
I think so.
I bought this book with the best of intentions. And in the year since I got the book, coincidentally my win rate has fallen off a cliff. I'm not attributing it to the book–my guess is that the games at my stakes have just gotten tougher–but it is a fact that I'm a big loser over that period, whereas I was a consistent winner previously at those stakes. (I got the book to move up a level or two… and I understand that the book is actually addressed to higher stakes than I'm talking about…)
Bottom line being: all hype aside, I would classify this firmly as "just another poker book". It's good, just like other Ed Miller/Harrington/Sklansky/etc. books. But not worth whatever I had to pay for it. I just happened to come back here, to see what/if anything is new, or to see if they (the authors) are doing anything on here to complement the reading or anything like that.
