RML60428 came up with a great idea. He's going to record a few of his sessions, compile a highlight reel of interesting hands, and then a few of us will provide an audio discussion on the hands played. It'll should open up a fantastic discussion. I'll let RML take it from here.

So I've done a few live sweat sessions in the past, but the recurring theme of every one of them was that while we were discussing an interesting hand, a. the player still has to focus on playing or focus on the discussion, but he can't do both b. interesting hands might come up while we're discussing a hand from the past, so we either move on and cut the discussion of the last hand short, or miss/ignore the interesting hand going on right now. So instead, I was thinking about recording my screen while I played for a few days and then compile a video of interesting hands that we can record audio over, pausing and discussing without any other distractions.
Not sure why I didn't think of this from the get go, but I'll just replay the hands in HEM while we talk through them.
So since I'll be sharing my screen and going through HEM, this also allows me to show hands from other people as well. So to make this more interesting and much more beneficial to all, can anyone who wants to participate please send me a hand history of a hand that you feel pertains to Session 1 (The raw hand history text so I can import it into my HEM), as well as any reads/stats(yours and villain's)/notes/questions on the hand (stats especially, since I probably won't have any history with you and villain in my database), and then we can schedule a time to all hook up via Skype and Mikogo (both free) and walk through all of the hands?
So if you're interesting in either discussing these hands (If you intend on joining, please make sure that you are going to participate, as there is a max # of people who can join due to software limitations), or just want to submit a hand and see what others have to say about it, please shoot me a PM with your hand text or a PM saying you'd be interested to review/comment on hands, and also let me know what time zone you're in and your general schedule so we can try to get a time when most people can participate.
If we run out of room, I'm just going to take the first x PMs (I think max capacity for Mikogo is like 8 or something), so hustle up, but please also be serious about discussing the hands and not just sitting on the line taking up a spot.
PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR HANDS! If we only review hands from me, we'll only see things from one player type's perspective, and we'll only see hands that I deem interesting. Even if you don't want to be a part of the discussion video, the more hands we have, the better this will be.
And of course, I'll upload the final video to a file sharing site like MegaUpload so all can download and watch.

Hey all,
So far there are 4 of us (I'm assuming Pete is in, but haven't confirmed with him) in the discussion. Mikogo can handle 10 people/session, so there's still plenty of room for more.
*IMPORTANT* – If you feel you're too new to the game or not good enough to participate, you're wrong. We need people who will ask a lot of questions, who don't understand everything, because if we have a bunch of 100NL players talking, they may gloss over something that's assumed between them but is a crucial point that would be beneficial for others to learn about.
Trust me, I'm at 10NL. I won't be providing any brilliant insight into the discussion, I'll be asking a lot of questions. Sweat sessions are great for your game, and if you're serious about really studying and absorbing the material in the book and improving your game, I would very strongly recommend you participate, even if you're only there to ask questions.
Also, so far everyone involved is in the USA, so I'm thinking maybe Tuesday or Wednesday in the evening, as I'm gone from Thursday night all through the next week.

I think this is a great idea and I would love to be involved, but I typically work evenings so I don't think it would work well scheduling wise. I eagerly look forward to the end result though!

This was great, thanks for setting it up RML. JZ, thanks for sending interesting hands to review.
In hindsight, I said some things that I no longer think were correct, and I've thought of other stuff I would've liked to have said as well. I guess that's the great thing about making this sort of videos, they make you listen to your own thought process and sometimes you'll learn from your mistakes. Thanks to the contributors that made me see my mistakes as well.
Hope to do more vids in the near future.

Thanks to RML for organizing and to JZ and orestto for sending in some hands. I was really helpful for me to talk through my process as well as hearing some great counterpoints, and I look forward to continuing the discussion when the video is posted. Hopefully we can make these a regular thing!

This sounds like it went well, I look forward to the video! Hopefully I will be able to make it to one of the future discussions, but if not I will definitely try to get more hands turned in. I had a hard time finding interesting hands that fit the topics being discussed over the first 61 pages, but I do think the future chapters in the book will cover a lot more dynamic spots so it should get easier as we go forward. Anyway, I'm glad I could be of some help… hopefully you guys didn't tear into me too hard. ;)

I am currently encoding the video, and tomorrow morning will bring the video to work and will upload it to megaupload from there. Thanks to all who participated/sent in hands, I thought it went pretty well for being the first one, and I think we'll get some good discussion out of it. I'll create a new thread when I post the video so all relevant convo can go in there.
Thanks again all who participated, and hopefully everyone else enjoys it!
